Updates
11/08/09 Tom is currently undergoing a drug therapy treatment known as Avastin. This treatment which constricts the blood vessels around a tumor has shown remarkable results. His primary tumor has shrunk by more than 60% of what it was when he first started.                


11/08/09 A Facebook page has been set up in Tom's name. A big thank you goes out to everyone that has reached out to his profile.
11/10/09 The Facebook group "Coach Conboy is My Hero" was started by JJ Schwarz. A big thank you goes out to JJ and everyone who has joined.
11/18/09 A new round of chemotherapy has begun. It should be a four to six week cycle.
11/21/09 Tom attended the NPC National Bodybuilding Competition in Hallandale, FL. While there he caught up with longtime friend Jay Cutler.
11/26/09 Tom spent Thanksgiving Day at his brother's house in Port St. Lucie, FL with the entire family. Tom would like to thank everyone who sent well wishes to him over the weekend.
12/14/09 The current chemotherapy treatment is nearing an end and should not last beyond the new year. New tests will be conducted following the treatments to determine the next course of action.
12/28/09 Started a new treatment usually reserved for leukemia patients.

1/17/10  Tom has been admitted to Good Samaratin Hospital in West Palm Beach to treat his pain.

1/21/10 Tom is in the process of being transferred into the care of hospice. He will remain at Good Samaritan unless his wishes change. Please keep him in your prayers.

1/23/10 He has been moved to room 498 in Good Samaritan hospital in West Palm Beach, FL. At this point he is still accepting visitors.

1/27/10 Tom was moved to room 501 at Good Samaritan. He is still accepting visitors.

1/31/10 A Pro Bowl party will be held in Tom's room at Good Samaritan. All are welcome to come. Food and drinks will be available. Show up at anytime.

2/3/10 Tom's condition has enterered a state where he can no longer communicate with people like he once could. The pain medication keeps him asleep almost all the time. Therefore his family and the doctors feel that all visits should be kept brief and used for prayer service and to say goodbye. He should not be woken up or disturbed. Thank you for your understanding and for all the support everyone has shown.

2/9/10 Tom had a great weekend watching the Super Bowl with friends and family. On Saturday he was visited by bodybuilding legend Ronnie Coleman. Ronnie won an unprecedented 8 Mr. Olympia titles during his famed career. It was a great visit and many thanks go out to Ronnie and the folks at BSN Nutrition for making this happen.

2/10/10 Tom has spent the past few days resting peacefully and sleeping most of the time. We appreciate everyone for understanding Tom's need to get rest. On another note Tom was a topic of conversation on Pro Bodybuilders Weekly podcast which is available on itunes. He will also be included in Mark Alvisi's column in Muscular Development magazine.

2/11/10  Tom had one of his best nights in a long time. He was awake and alert for several hours and took a wheelchair stroll through the hospital for about an hour. His condition was a very pleasant surprise.

2/18/10 Tom has been doing very well the past few days. It appears that he will be heading home on Monday the 22nd and pursuing a new state of the art medical treatment in Delray Beach.

2/21/10 Tom will go home on Tuesday. Since his new treatment does not start until Wednesday the doctors would like to keep him at the hospital as long as possible to monitor him.

2/23/10 Tom is now at home at will have a consultation for his new treatment tomorrow. He was so happy to come home and is very excited about the upcoming treatment.

2/26/10 Tom received his first new treatment today around noon. All went well and he will continue next week.

3/07/10 The new treatments are going well. He is up 10 pounds in a little over a week.

3/14/10 Tom passed peacefully this morning with his mother and brother by his side.
